Yamaha 9' CFX concert grand
Yamaha's multi-sampled CFX concert grand, featured here in the Yamaha Arius YDP-184, is the next best thing to sitting behind a full-sized Yamaha CFX. All the hallmarks are here in living color: the expressive pianissimo, the characteristic brightness and power, the sweet, singing sustain, and the rich tonal palette. Stereo speakers with dual 30W amplifiers and Yamaha's onboard Virtual Resonance Modeling provide a good approximation of sitting down at a real piano to perform. And for an even more convincing playing experience, Arius's Stereophonic Optimizer crafts the sound through headphones for haunting realism.
24 instrument voices
Hearing strings in your head as you compose? Electric piano? The Arius YDP-184's 24 onboard voices build muscle and tendons onto your musical skeletons.
Onboard 16-track recorder
Don't let those song and arrangement ideas escape you. The Arius YDP-184's onboard 16-track MIDI recorder captures up to 250 pieces for safe storage or later tweaking.
Traditional upright design makes a fine first impression
Before you even get your hands on the Yamaha Arius YDP-184, you'll be stunned by its richly-finished rosewood cabinet and elegant appointments. These give the Arius an inviting acoustic allure that won't look out of place in a living room, teaching studio, recital hall, or house of worship. Includes a matching rosewood bench for a traditional look.
GH3 graded hammer action plays more like an acoustic piano
Sweetwater pianists were impressed with the last-generation Ariuses' GH and GHS action. The YDP-184's Graded Hammer Action 3 (GH3) keybed feels even better than before, with keys that swing back faster with better weight to respond to fast arpeggios and dynamic performances. Players who are used to practicing on an acoustic piano will have an easier time transitioning to the 184's action; students will learn better technique to take them to the recital hall and beyond.
