Exquisite Jumbo Acoustic from Yamaha

The Yamaha LL26 ARE is a true send-up to vintage design, tone, and feel. Utilizing Yamaha's unique ARE technology, Japanese luthiers have constructed a work of art in the LL26 ARE. Featuring a solid rosewood body with a solid Engelmann spruce top, the LL26 produces gorgeous tone that is balanced, full, and unique. A 5-ply mahogany/rosewood neck with ebony fingerboard adds to this stellar instrument's exquisite tone and playability. High-end, detailed appointments such as a maple binding and an ebony bridge support and enhance the rich tone of this stellar acoustic — added touches we really appreciate here at Sweetwater.

Stellar tonewood pairing

The tonewood combination of rosewood and spruce has won over countless players who have been enthralled by the incredible blending of the rich low end from rosewood and the high and midrange clarity of spruce. The resulting tone is truly something that has to be experienced, and the LL26 lets you do just that. Wide-open strums, picking, and fingerstyle approaches on this Jumbo-style acoustic all translate beautifully through the tonewood pairing of the LL26. And the 5-ply mahogany/rosewood neck and ebony fingerboard offer the kind of feel and response that make hours of playing and exploring seem effortless.

Innovative construction to build a better guitar

The great tone and smooth playability of the LL26 ARE are due to Yamaha's never-ending search for perfection. The recently developed ARE (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) process gives your guitar a broken-in and aged tone. By controlling the atmospheric pressure, temperature, and humidity, the molecular properties of the wood are manipulated to mirror those of a guitar that has been played for years. Each L Series guitar also sports modified non-scalloped bracing that enhances the guitar's low end. And the 5-ply mahogany/rosewood neck, after reevaluation of string height and spacing, has a new design for improved playability. The Yamaha LL26 utilizes newly developed advances in guitar construction to bring you an amazingly playable and great-sounding instrument.

A stellar instrument - exceptional in every respect

I owned an L series Yamaha in the late 70s. It was the very first all-solid-wood flattop I'd ever owned, and it was incredible. I foolishly traded that guitar in for a guitar that doubles as a floatation device in the unlikely event of a water landing, and I have regretted that impulsive decision ever since. Fast forward more than 4 decades - I've owned and played so many guitars over the years. High end Martins, Taylors, even a custom built jumbo by a world renowned builder. They were all amazing instruments. I sold, gave away, or traded in most of them. Of them all, there's only one guitar I truly regret having let go of - that exceptional Yamaha L. I decided it was time to fill the hole in my soul that was created all those years ago, and ordered an LL26 from Sweetwater. It's simply the best guitar I've ever owned - period, end of story. Workmanship is FLAWLESS. Tone is HEAVENLY. Wood selection is SUBLIME. Playability is as good as ANY off-the-rack guitar I've purchased - the neck on this thing is GORGEOUS to look at and to hold. It responds EFFORTLESSLY to fingerstyle, it has dynamic range equal to any guitar I've played, with the possible exception of a few pre-war Gibson J45s that left me speechless. It is a BANJO KILLER if that's what you need. The sound stage created by this guitar is so expansive, it changes the way I approach it with my fingers or a plectrum. As I play it, I find myself more deeply immersed in the music I'm creating, and more intimately connected to the instrument. What more could you ask for in a guitar?

One Word: Pristine

Build quality, wood selection, playability, setup, and attention to detail all absolutely superb. Exactly what you would expect not only in this price range but guitars worth twice as much. In finding this guitar I tried out some really high end stuff - Collings, Martin, etc. And I'd put this LL26 toe to toe with any of them.

And the sound? Pick a word...pristine, full, warm, lush, loud. This thing resonates for days and gets louder the more you play it.

If you buy one, rest assured you're getting a world class instrument you can enjoy the rest of your life.

Incredible

Not enough good I can say about this hard to find guitar. Nothing flashy here, just top notch tone woods and superb craftmanship. As said by someone else, it can whisper and it can bark. Not only does it sound amazing but it's a pleasure to play. This guitar, in my honest opinion, simply out performs all other guitars in and above its price range and the wait was worth it.

Best guitar I have ever owned

I really am just a little bit surprised at how good this guitar is. I have owned a few other high end guitars before I bought this guitar. 2 of those guitars were between 3000 to 4000 bucks. I will not say the name on the headstock. This guitar makes them sound a little bit weak in comparison. I dont know what the Japanese guitar makers are doing, but they are doing it right. This guitar resonates forever. the other two reviewers before mine are spot on. This is one bueatifully built and sounding guitar. This will be the guitar that I will compare every guitar that I pick up and play from now on.I have a feeling I will have a hard time finding its equal with out spending a whole lot of money.

Great workmanship

Japanese Made Yamahas are incredible. The workmanship is superb. A beautiful instrument . Sound quality is full and clear. Very impressed with the price. This guitar is by far better than any other guitar in this price range. I would match this guitar with any other guitar in the $3500 to $4000. I own a Martin GPC4R and Taylor 214ce deluxe and this guitar outplays them both! My luthier was very impressed with the quality of this guitar. I added a Fishman pickup and the sound is incredible.
