Perfect Capo for all Taylor Guitars (steel strings only)

If you are looking for the perfect Capo for practically any steel string Taylor this is the one. I have a Grand Auditorium and a GS Mini and it worked perfectly on both, perfectly meaning that I need not need to tune again after placing the capo. It will work on a neck that is up tp 5.1cm at most, or the 9th Fret of a Grand Auditorium. It is super easy to put on and take off, although many people and even great music stores upload youtube videos where they struggle to open it, so I did some pictures on how I do it with just one hand, so fellow guitarists may put it on and take it off it smoothly.

To get the best out of it:
- Put on following pictures, hinge close to the thickest string.
- Place very close to the fret ( say 2 mm from fret or even less).
- Tighten SOFTLY, just to aid in correct placement.
- Verify that it is perfectly parallel to fret.
- Play strings there should be some buzz or even muting as you tighten it softly.
- Tighten a little bit until buzz starts disappearing.
- Check that it is well centered and PERFECTLY parallel to the fret.
- Tighten very very gently until buzz disappears.
- Check for tuning if you did not over-tighten the tuning should be perfect, that was the case for my GA and GS Mini.

These steps should take you 30 seconds once you get the hang of it.

This capo is exclusive of Taylor neck shapes for steel strings (this may include Taylor copies), for other brands it may not work well at all, as both the side that hits the strings and the rubber pad that cuddles the neck are made to match the Taylor neck.

Good capo

I have bought several types of capos all of which work ok. My biggest issue is that most don't leave room for my hand when trying to play certain chords near them. This Taylor capo seems to have solved that problem. String tensioning is very even with this capo too.

Great Capo!

This is the only reasonably priced capo that I could find that does the following:
1. Can be left above the nut on a guitar for almost instant use
2. Has a metal screw into a metal bar (not plastic) that gives an even pressure under the fingerboard and guarantees the proper tuning won't be affected

This type of capo allows you to use it whenever it strikes your fancy. Of course, it's designed for a Taylor guitar, but it should fit most acoustic guitars that have a thinly radiused fingerboard.

Solid & easy to use.

Good capo.

Preferred my Shubb that got lost recently. This is less pricey though which is nice. It's good but feels a little less sturdy.
