An Affordable Acoustic-electric Dreadnought

The Takamine GD30-CE acoustic-electric guitar will elevate your stage presence with its big, rich sound and stunning, classic good looks. With its solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides, the rosette-adorned GD30-CE resonates with bold dreadnought tone. You get impressive playability, courtesy of a comfortable ovangkol fingerboard with a 12" radius. Takamine has also fitted the GD30-CE with their TP4T preamp, for clear, natural-sounding amplified tone. If you're in the market for a great-looking, sounding, and playing acoustic, we've got yours: the Takamine GD30-CE.

Great sound is in the details

The Takamine GD30-CE acoustic-electric guitar benefits from premium tonewoods and Takamine's painstaking attention to detail. With its solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides, the GD30-CE serves up big, clear dreadnought tone. And with its eye-catching natural gloss finish and classic rosette, your fans' ears won't be the only sensory organs riveted on your performance. If it's beefy dreadnought power and visual presence you're after, the Takamine GD30-CE guitar is for you.

Takamine - 50 years of quality, great sound, and playability

The Takamine GD30-CE dreadnought cutaway acoustic-electric guitar benefits from a half-century of Takamine guitar-crafting knowhow. Launched in 1962 at the foot of Japan's Takamine mountains, Takamine has been designing and building acoustic guitars that are seen in the hands of some of music's biggest stars. With quality and value as guiding principles, Takamine's instruments employ the finest tonewoods, construction techniques, and technical innovations, such as the proprietary TP4T preamp system found in this guitar.

Takamine's TP4T preamp system

The GD30-CE sports Takamine's TP4T preamp, giving you rich, clear-sounding amplified output, instantly. A feature of G-Series guitars, the TP4T features a gain knob; a tuner; an active shelving EQ with bass, middle, and treble sliders; and a low battery indicator. The preamp is switched on by plugging a standard instrument cable into the end pin/strap pin jack. Unplugging the cable turns the preamp off. The TP4T is powered by a single 9-volt battery.

Takamine GD30-CE Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:

  • Classic cutaway dreadnought body style
  • Solid spruce top with mahogany sides and back
  • Ovangkol fingerboard with dot inlays
  • Takamine TP4T preamp for great amplified tone
  • Preamp includes a chromatic tuner at your fingertips to keep you in tune

Takamine GD 30 CE Nat Review

Guitar Tone is perfect. But the Preamp system Pickup set near the Neck heel is not comfortable to play such Percussive Fingerstyle Songs. Sometime when slap the body near Preamp. It can be toch the volume. And the finishing is Natural. Key pegs and finishing upgrade as 51 CE may look better appearence. May be the manufacturer intentionally left the finishing and Key pegs color. The preamp Location may be TAKAMINE Trademark as well. If they did that i have nothing to say.

Very Impressed

The entire process with Sweetwater was impressive. Starting out by picking "your" guitar with hi-def pictures was really cool. Hats off to Sweetwater. The guitar showed up in perfect condition. The action was low and the sound of a Takamine speaks for its self. I have not played it through an amp (I don't have one yet). But overall, I give the guitar and Sweetwater a rating of 10.

Nice Entry Level Tak

For the first few months I was worried that I bought a lemon because this guitar was buzzing like crazy. The buzzing went away and I have not any issues since. This guitar sounds good plugged or unplugged. It is a nice entry level guitar.

Great Beginner Acoustic

I used to play guitar quite a few years ago, ended up quiting cause life got in the way. Now retired, I wanted a good sounding Guitar that would be a little easier to play than the old Epi, I had. Spent a bunch of time researching and even more time talking with AJ who was to become my sales engineer. AJ was able to narrow my search and based on his recommendation I bought this guitar this past February. I had to live with this for awhile before writing this as I'm no means a professional. I have found this guitar to be perfect for me as an advanced beginner. The tonal quaility, fit and finish are perfect. I have found that this guitar is the perfect weight and size for me. (I'm 6"0"). I love that I can pick tjhis up and not have to worry about it always being out of tume like my old guitar. Very easy play thanks to Sweetwaters excellent Setup Techs. electronics are clean and the small EQ is and built-in tuner are nice touches that work well. LOve Sweetwater and was very lucky to get AJ as my Sales Engineer. Thanks to all of you at Sweetwater.

Great value!

Love everything about this guitar. I use it primarily for playing at a church. It sounds great either plugged in or completely acoustic. I would definitely recommend this guitar for the value and quality.
