Eight Strings of Hard-hitting Metal Tone!

You asked for it, and Schecter is all too pleased to deliver the Hellraiser Hybrid C-8: an 8-string solidbody electric guitar with all the features serious aggressive guitarists have been asking for. It all starts off with a set of extra-hot EMG active humbuckers - the perfect basis for brutal tone. A delightfully balanced mahogany body topped with quilted maple offers up a tried-and-true tonewood combo, your fingers will positively fly down the Hellraiser Hybrid C-8's ebony fretboard and slim SLS neck, and you'll love the tuning stability you'll get from the Hipshot hardtail bridge.

Hellraiser Hybrid: cool guitars with the features players like you demand

One of the things we really like about Schecter here at Sweetwater is that they're clearly devoted to giving their fans exactly the guitars they want. The Hellraiser Hybrid lineup is just one more example of this. Based entirely on feedback from players like you, Schecter loaded the Hellraiser Hybrid C-8 and the rest of the HH Series with a slim SLS profile neck, a newly designed carbon fiber binding, a full set of glow-in-the-dark side dots (a real bonus when you're playing darker venues), and a pair of super-popular EMG active humbuckers. Get the performance you need and all of the trappings you desire with your very own Hellraiser Hybrid C-8 solidbody electric guitar!

Get hot-rodded PAF tone from this pair of popular EMG pickups

If you're looking for a sweet range of tone that can go from subtle to brutal, then you're going to get a kick out of the Schecter Hellraiser Hybrid C-8. Like the rest of the Hellraiser Hybrid collection, the Hellraiser Hybrid C-8 comes loaded with a pair of active EMG pickups including an EMG 57-8 at the bridge and an EMG 66-8 at the neck - both with cool-looking brushed black metal-works covers. The result sounds like a set of overwound vintage PAFs. From the chest-thumping lows to the resonant honk that metal guitarists rely on, you'll get all the tones you need from your Hellraiser Hybrid C-8.

Quilted maple meets solid mahogany - the perfect tonewoods for metal

Modern metal and hard rock were founded on the sound of warm mahogany and the bite of maple - and that's just what you get with a Schecter Hellraiser Hybrid C-8 solidbody electric guitar. Resculpted for the Hellraiser Hybrid line, the Hellraiser Hybrid C-8's mahogany body sports an increased upper cutaway that provides even easier access to your higher frets. Stunning quilted maple caps this body, adding both bright sonic overtones and a look so three-dimensional it seems to punch trough the glossy, transparent black finish.

Schecter Hellraiser Hybrid C-8 Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:

  • A high-performance 8-string electric guitar built to give metal and hard rock players exactly what they want
  • Pair of active EMG humbuckers includes a EMG 57-8 at the bridge and an EMG 66-8 at the neck for hot-rodded PAF tone
  • Contoured and well-balanced mahogany body topped with quilted maple looks great and sounds amazing
  • 3-piece maple neck with slim SLS neck profile lets your fingers fly down the fretboard

A monster of an 8 string!!

I got this guitar around December last year and I"ve wanted to write a review for a while but I couldn"t put this thing down!! For a person with smaller hands it"s a bit hard to play an 8 string but I took a big chance and bought this guy after I sold my Ibanez 8 string and the difference is night and day!!! The neck on this guitar is absolutely amazing for smaller handed people I"m able to shred and play my fast rhythms how I want to with ease and efficiency!! I would recommend buying a 10-74 string set for this guitar and doing a low action set up so you can get the full spectrum of tones that this big guy has to offer! Thank you Sweetwater y"all know how to treat your customers!!

Schecter Hellraiser Hybrid C-8

Best guitar I have ever owned. Fast neck, set up out of the box, customer service was great, sounds immense chugs are tight and pump, the Very bright guitar with crushing lows. The EMG 57 is the best thing EMG has ever made. The guitar vibrates a lot when you play and I'm sure it adds to the tone. A perfect guitar and I'm glad I decided on this one in particular.

This feels like a high-end guitar!

This beast is absolutely amazing and not to mention gorgeous, the neck feels like it belongs on a 2500 dollar guitar and the finish and binding is top notch, my only problem is that it came in with the selector switch backwards but there were no problems with the playability or tone which I suppose means that the electronics were wired that way on purpose.

21st Century Guitar.

This guitar gets played almost everyday. All kinds of music, all kinds of ways. I put all my "vintage" guitars upstairs and this is the only one at my desk. It's a total challenge for me and completely refreshing to move into new territories. I know there are finer 8 string guitars out there, but this one is right in the right place with quality and features I can appreciate and use.

Great Guitar but needs some adjustments

I love the guitar. It's beautiful to say the least. The neck feels good and is very thin. It's my first 8 string and the 28" scale takes some getting used to. I had to change some things after I got the guitar. The volume knobs were backwards when I got mine so I had to change them. Not a big deal, but I feel it should be mentioned. The Pickups where really low and since they only had foam pad underneath them they couldn't really be adjusted higher. I added springs to the pickups so they could be adjusted to the proper height. Without the adjustment the 6, 7 and 8 strings don't have much volume compared to the higher strings. The neck pickup poles don't match up to the strings quite right. I think it makes a difference with the 8th string's volume and clarity when running on the neck pickup. I am thinking of getting a bar pickup for the neck. The Stock strings are too heavy. I bought D'Addario XL 10-74 set strings and the 7th and 8th strings sound much clearer than with the stock 81 (I think) that was on the 8th string. However, when bending the 1st string on the 8th fret to the 1st fret it's impossible to hit a full step bend with a .010 gauge string. I broke 2 strings trying. Also, it was tearing up my fingers. I finally realized that because of the 28" scale the tension needed to tune strings 1 through 4 correctly is too high with the gauges I use on my 6-string guitars. Also, since the frets are further apart you have to bend further to hit the notes. I ended up buying single strings for a custom set of D'Addario NYXL 8, 10, 14, 22, 38, 52, 64, 74 because no one makes a set like that. I think I may still go a little lighter on the 6th and 7th strings. Obviously you'll have to adjust the neck and the intonation for the lighter strings but in my opinion it is well worth it. If you are just doing chunk-chunk heavy distortion stuff the lighter strings on the high end probably isn't needed for you, but the lighter 7th and 8th strings make a big difference in sound clarity and the strings don't sound so muddy. Overall, I really like the guitar it just took a few things to adjust it to my play-style and it's a learning experience with a longer scale. Just FYI I tune E-B-G-D-A-E-B-F# and I have been playing blues on it because someone told me I couldn't. The baritone sounds are really awesome if you put them in the right places. :) I also bought the SGR1C - Schecter SGR-1C Molded Guitar Case which is a perfect fit.
