The Perfect Companion for Your Compact Bass Head

If you're seeking that coveted Orange bass tone in an easy-traveling cab size, consider the OBC112 (here in classic orange). At just 26 lbs. and standing 17" tall, this speaker cabinet is the perfect complement to your Terror Bass or other compact bass head. But don't be fooled by its size — the OBC112 is surprisingly big on tone. Its 15mm rear-ported birch cabinet, loaded with a 400-watt Lavoce neodymium 12" driver, exhibits the rich, round bottom, present midrange, and ragged bark that Orange's larger cabs are known for, but at a fraction of the size and weight. Best of all, the OBC112 is big on Orange style, featuring Orange's basketweave vinyl covering and solid black acoustic grill cloth with Orange logo and crest. Traveling light? You can't go wrong with the Orange OBC112 bass cab from Sweetwater.

Orange OBC112 Bass Speaker Cabinet Features:

  • The perfect companion for your Terror Bass or compact bass head
  • Surprisingly rich and brawny tone
  • Compact bass cab speaks with Orange authority
  • 12" Lavoce neodymium speaker is light on weight, yet big on sound
  • 15mm birch ply cabinet is rear ported for added bass

Orange OBC-112 400-watt 1x12" Bass Cabinet

Used this cab over the weekend with the new Orange Little Bass Thing head and it made for a great gig. The band liked and it as much as I did.

The cabinet sounds really good, seems to handle a low B string with no problem and is super light and easy to move around. We made a video on an iphone of the show and the sound of the bass and the amp is exactly what I was hoping for. It's warm and fat, yet articulate and covered the large room we were in with ease. Sometimes neo-drivers can have a bit of a strange tone quality and there's none of that with this driver.

The cover, sold separately is very nice and easy to put on, and didn't cost an arm and a leg too. I would buy a second cab if I thought I needed it, but just one will handle anything I need it for.

Awesome Cabs

I bought 2 of these to go with my Terror Bass amp and wow are these cabs awesome. I also own 2 OBC410s so I wanted a set of smaller cabs for when I play small to medium venues, but these 112s sound wayyyy bigger than you'd expect. Orange knocked it out of the park with these, and super easy to lift and transport. I'll only need the 90lb 410s for the occasional big show now.

The horror! The TERROR!

I've been a lead guitarist for 25+ years since I was a kid but recently started dabbling in bass after filling in for a gig for my buddy. I'd been having a lot of fun and wanted a little rig for myself so I could write a bit and just get a different view on some tunes sometime, and now resuming bass guitar duties on some shows.

My current guitar rig is Marshall DSL 100HR w/ 4x12, but had an eye on Orange when I bought it. Getting some bass gear gave me a reason to dive in!

Back to the "little rig" I wanted. I paired this with the Orange Terror Bass and its sound is anything but little. It has no issue keeping up with my Marshall, and at only 11 o'clock volume I rattled frames off the wall in my basement studio (broke one) and was causing havoc upstairs as well.

For the gig we ended up snagging another OBC112 to stack them (the band's front man was also so impressed with this rig, he's also buying the Terror Bass, so for live shows we can stack our cabs). Oh man, this thing is a monster. Barely had to push it at all to fill a good-sized venue (the Emerson theater in Indy for those familiar). The single 1x12 would have probably been able to handle this just fine... but with two of them and the DI out of the Terror there we had zero issues.

My general style is horror punk and metal, and while most of my gear (and personal style) is all black, there was something about the Orange cab/black grill cloth calling to me. My studio has classic trick or treat pales and other such jack-o-lantern items, so this fits right in. If it was the tan grill like the guitar cabs, I'd have definitely gone black, but the orange and black is simply rad.

I walked into this gig holding two of these cabs and the Terror Bass head hanging from my shoulder with minimal effort. I can't believe how light they are!

Orange Bass Cabs: Learn it, Know it, Live it

This cab is a great sounding, low weight, and affordable companion to my 4-Stroke 300 head. The Lavoce speaker is fantastic, and provides more low-end and articulation than other 1x12 bass cabs that I've tried. I've always been a fan of the Orange look as well, and this is no exception, especially with the black grill cloth that looks a LOT better than the tan variety that comes with their guitar cabinets. I was born on Halloween, so I definitely appreciate the orange/black aesthetic. Couldn't recommend this cab more highly for use in the home, studio, practice space, or small/mid-sized gigs. Probably the best value for a bass cab in this category and price range.
