A True Analog Delay Pedal from MXR

The MXR Carbon Copy analog delay features an entirely analog audio path, delivering rich, warm delay using old-school bucket brigade technology. The Carbon Copy boasts 600ms of delay time, with optional modulation via a top-mounted switch, and its simple three-knob layout gives you complete control over Delay, Mix (dry/wet blend), and Regeneration (delay repeats) - all in one incredibly compact pedal! For even more tonal options, you can also adjust width and rate control of the modulation via two internal trim pots. This pedal gives you everything from crisp bathroom slap echoes to epic delays, all with the simple twist of a knob. Stage-worthy blue LEDs and 9-volt operation round out this MXR Carbon Copy analog delay!

Thick and warm

you don't buy this pedal because it's super high fidelity and crystal clear, you buy it because you want that warm vintage fluttered and saturated sound, the only thing digital delays do is fight with you in the sonic space, this delay gives depth but it sounds at a different frequency which makes it very pleasant to the ear

Love this pedal

This is a great delay pedal. I'm really enjoying it. I use it all the time with my band. That being said - I had to learn how to use it. You can not play with it into an overdrive channel. Its sounds mushy. It has to go onto a clean channel with the overdrive pedal placed before the delay. Then it works absolutely great. If you have a send/receive - that works for the delay too but my amp does not have that feature. I'm still getting great overdrive breakup into the clean channel using my OCD pedal into my Marshall. And the delay is always on.

Great delay pedal

This delay pedal is a great pedal. Great echoes and repeats. The mod button adds a slight reverb effect. Be careful when dialing in, if there is a signal when adjusting the delay pot, it gets this crazy rapid repeat that turns into a unpleasant feedback. There is no tap tempo to adjust the time of the repeats on the go hands free. I don't know a lot about delay effects but i guess that's the difference between analog and digital delays. This is my first delay pedal in a single stompbox unit. All the delays I've used were my line 6 spider IV 120 combo amp and my digitech GNX 3 and 4 modeling processors. That is about the extent of my experience with delay effects. But overall i like this pedal and would recommend.

Quickly becoming favorite pedal

I belong to a trio blues band, and at times I thought our (my) sound was just a little thin for the 3 of us. Set the pedal up for a slap back delay profile giving the guitar playing a more fuller thicker sound. Awesome pedal!

Pleased

When my salesman Sean recommended this pedal I was not sure if i fit in my rig.
I am very happy with this pedal. The slap back I get is perfect the music I play.
Thanks Sean.
It really ands the new sound I was searching for!

What Do Our In-house Gear Experts Think?

Bart Good

I recently purchased this pedal and have been impressed with the great sounds that it produces. I have been experimenting using it with a 57 and outboard preamp for vocals, it adds an instant '70s vibe. It has been very interesting and rewarding using this pedal, and I highly recommend it. If you desire a high quality analog delay then... don't delay!

Charlie Davis

The Carbon Copy is everything that I look for in a delay pedal. The sound is full and rich, with the option of adding some cool modulation to the regeneration. Don't let the 3-knob layout fool you though, this pedal is incredibly versatile and if you don't need anything too crazy, it is a great choice.

Carson McClain

Pure, beautiful analog delay. This is is the pedal you have to have for any purist guitar rig. The analog signal path is reminiscent of days long gone yet still highly desired.
