Amp-like Tremolo for Small Pedalboards

The pulsating, throbbing sound of vintage Fender and Vox amplifier tremolo lives on in the JHS Tidewater mini tremolo pedal. With a simple control set — Volume, Mix, and Speed — the Tidewater pedal delivers amp-like warmth and dimension. So much so, that you can even dial the Mix knob back and simply use it as a wonderfully rich preamp boost by pushing its volume up. Guitarists at Sweetwater appreciate the ability to adjust the range of the Speed control via internal DIP switches. If you've been searching for classic tube-tremolo tone that you can use with any amplifier, then the JHS Tidewater pedal may bring that search to an end.

JHS Tidewater Mini Tremolo Pedal Features:

  • Inspired by the rich sound of vintage Fender and Vox amplifier tremolo
  • Can also be used as a warm preamp boost by turning the Mix down and the Volume up
  • Internal DIP switches allow you to select a faster or slower speed range

Always-On, Set-and-Forget Fender Trem That Fits in the Palm of Your Hand

I needed a simple, small-footprint vintage (i.e., Blackface) sounding tremolo to pair with my Boing reverb on my fly rig board. I called my sales engineer Gage Massey, who is tuned-in (no pun intended) to my sound, playing style and what I need from my gear, ran a couple of ideas by him and he, without hesitation, recommended the JHS Tidewater.

Vol: 1:00
Mix: 8:00
Speed: 11:00

Find your sound; hit the switch; done.

I play no-gain CLEAN. These settings provide the perfect amount of SUBTLE movement without changing/dominating my overall sound. The Tidewater is an excellent piece of gear, and a steal given the price. It has worked so well that it and the Boing have replaced the Milkman F-Stop as my main/go-to reverb and tremolo. 5/5 Tidewater. 5/5 Gage Massey. 5/5 Sweetwater.

Oh, and as for that *BRIGHT* white, pulsar of an LED…I always know when my tremolo is on.

Wow!

I never write reviews on gear purchases and I buy a LOT of gear. I bought the Tidewater trem to use when I am playing through an amp/cab sim pedal. Let me just say that I wasn't really expecting to be blown away by this pedal..I mean..It's a tremolo pedal. But, I was. Such a joy to play through. Simple controls, small footprint, but most importantly it sounds fantastic. Very Fender or Vox like, but it can also get a bit more choppy if you're looking for that. I run it after a Source Audio Collider on the true spring setting into a Walrus Audio ACS1 as a quiet practice tool and a backup direct setup.

Essential trem. No need to tweak every parameter.

Really great sounding, simple, and small trem. Perfect for feeling of loss of not having a good one built in to your amp. Well built. The right size.

Best tremolo I’ve owned

Lays down such a "love song for Bobby long" vibe .
