The Jazzmaster Just Keeps Getting Better

Introducing updated pickups, a redesigned tremolo system, and a wide range of captivating colors, the Fender American Professional II Jazzmaster is sure to impress. This iteration of the iconic offset guitar is equipped with a player-favorite Deep "C" profile, with rolled fretboard edges for a supremely comfortable playing experience. The neck heel has been redesigned for better access to higher frets, too. And with the innovative Panorama tremolo system, you have the extended pitch-bend range of a Stratocaster combined with the sensitivity and subtlety of the classic Jazzmaster tremolo. With all this musical mojo channeled through a pair of V-Mod II single-coil Jazzmaster pickups for vibrant, full-spectrum tonality, the Fender American Professional II Jazzmaster delivers on all fronts.

Panorama tremolo system expands your expressive range

Many Jazzmaster players at Sweetwater think the floating Jazzmaster vibrato system is one of Leo Fender's finest designs, with little room for improvement. We're please to report that the updated Panorama tremolo system on the American Professional II Jazzmaster offers the same fluid response you'd expect, but with greater bending range akin to that of a Stratocaster. The shape of the arm stays the same, which plays a big role in the feel of a Jazzmaster's tremolo system. You'll be able to warble and flutter like always, and you'll also have access to deep dives when needed.

Updated pickups, plus the bridge pickup tone you've been waiting for

With the second-generation V-Mod II single-coil Jazzmaster pickups, Fender aimed for more articulation, clarity, and chime — and they nailed it. What really sets the American Professional II Jazzmaster apart from other versions, though, is the bridge pickup's tap function, allowing you to choose between "a powerful, throaty sound or a lower-output vintage sound." If you love the sound of a Jazzmaster's neck and neck-middle pickup positions (who doesn't?), but have found the bridge pickup to be lacking in girth, the American Professional II Jazzmaster is for you.

A neck you'll love for a lifetime

Fender's Deep "C" neck profile sets a solid and comfortable foundation for chords and lead lines alike, making it a favorite among players who aren't looking for a wafer-thin neck profile. For the American Professional II Jazzmaster, Fender went above and beyond by adding smoothly rolled fretboard edges that feel sublime in your hand, and a redesigned neck heel carve for a more comfortable experience in the upper registers.

Fender American Professional II Jazzmaster Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:

  • Fender's original offset guitar with modern performance enhancements
  • Updated V-Mod II single-coil Jazzmaster pickups offer more clarity and articulation than ever
  • Bridge pickup offers a tap mode to choose between "a powerful, throaty sound or a lower-output vintage sound"
  • Panorama tremolo system with pop-in arm gives you the bending range of a Stratocaster
  • Deep "C" neck profile with rolled fretboard edges and redesigned neck heel for a comfortable playing experience all the way up the fretboard

Jazzmaster pro II in Dark Night finish

This guitar is stunning the pic is nice but doesn't do it justice. Prior to recent history the Fender Jazzmaster was only made in Japan. Fender has finally, after decades, brought it home. It doesn't have the traditional Rhythm circuit as before. But I believe the new ones have better circuitry due to the addition of the Series to Pharrell circuits on the upper pickguard. The push pull tone control on the lower pickguard changes from the vintage Jazzmaster tone or the modern tones. The neck is really fast and this guitar plays like a dream. Thank you, Sweetwater your customer service is over the top.

The Type of Guitar to grow old with.

I'm not going to go hardcore into detail about the guitar. If you're thinking about this guitar the title says it all. I do recommend asking your sales engineer to get your guitar set up before it gets shipped to you (SUPER WORTH IT). They'll give you a workshop set up pamphlet with your specs, so you keep the guitar sounding the way you asked them to. From pick-up height, neck relief and action height at 12th fret. Second to none on detail. Just ask your sales engineer to get it set up with either high action or low action and they'll take it from there. My sales engineer Jared Bobcean kept me updated about the guitar status. As you can see this guitar is still on more to order. FOR A REASON! I Waited 7 months for this guitar, and I'm glad I waited patiently and not moved on to another. This guitar will get attention from the moment its seen. No issues with electronics and hardware. I do Recommend ordering some locking tuners.

Wow

My second JM and quite literally my favorite. I'm mainly a Les Paul player so I'm not as well versed on JM attributes and quality of the past. But this guitar kills. Let's start off with the paint job; I got the dark Knight and it's beyond fantastic. Even my affectionado JM owning guitar teacher loves this guitar. The neck is so smooth I just glides through the hands and this is really important because I'm not a super fast guitar player. The pups produce such great tones, between the neck just being bright and loud and the bridge having the push push tapping gives so much versatility. I don't know much about circuitry either but apparently the rhythm circuitry is top notch. It works well and I enjoy playing it most often. I tried the tremolo out and I don't know a lot about trems or have really used them much so I'm not gonna say it's good or bad. Only thing I will say is I used it and had to re-tune the Guitar. I probably used it wrong. The guitar has a great weight to it and overall stays in tune quite well even after traveling. The case is pretty awesome too. Robert Williams is my SW Rep and as always he delivers top quality assistance and service.
Music background: Only been playing a few years. At home with lessons once a week. Hobby guitar playing instead of working out.

Such a beauty!

I am and always will consider myself an intermediate at home guitar player although I have accumulated more than I feel worthy of in great guitars. I have always wanted a Jazzmaster since my introduction to electric guitars from acoustic only. When Fender introduced this Dark Knight I knew it was the one. Mike Brandt has been such a great representative who has helped me with several major decisions. He let me know from the start there would be a wait time. Fortunately, it actually arrived a couple of months sooner than expected. When I opened the case I was so blown away by the beauty. I have had it a couple of months now and love the various tones and ease of playing this gorgeous (and as a friend called it "sexy") guitar. It is not too heavy as I was concerned about the weight. I have both strats and teles that I love, but this special Jazzmaster will always garner more attention from me as it seems to be a combo of those two styles. And I am still in love with the beauty of this guitar. She has become the Goddess of my collection. Thanks again to Mike Brandt and such great assistance as always. Sweetwater has the best team going when it comes to music sales and I am anxious to come and visit their showroom when the time is right.

American Professional 2 Jazzmaster

I play in a praise team at church. This instrument gives me plenty of options as to playing hymns in the traditional service or in the more diverse praise music. I love the new series circuit in the rhythm setting as well as the push-push option on the tone control. Having had both the professional 1 and the professional2 jazzmaster guitars, the new one is a worthwhile improvement. I highly recommend the new jazzmaster for all types of playing. I have been playing guitar over 64 years and have owned over one hundred guitars. This is my new favorite!
Music background: Professional musician and retired music teacher.
