Powerful Projection with This Strong-voiced Acoustic

The Epiphone J-45 Studio acoustic guitar offers dynamic projection like no other acoustic for the price! This member of Epiphone's Advanced Jumbo family of guitars has a larger lower bout and a smaller rounded upper bout, creating a unique voice that's bold and beautiful. Its responsive nature really emphasizes the nuances of your playing, courtesy of a solid Sitka spruce top that allows for tremendous definition and a detailed sound. And the combination of its mahogany back, sides, and the generous body size provides exceptional depth and body. Whether you're playing on your own or with an acoustic ensemble, you're sure to provide a powerful foundation for your music with the Epiphone J-45 Studio acoustic guitar.

Solid Sitka spruce top for sweet tone that will keep improving

Sweetwater guitarists know that the choice of top wood can make or break the sound of an acoustic guitar. When engineering the J-45 Studio, Epiphone decided on a solid Sitka spruce top as much for its look as for its tone. Solid sitka spruce has a vibrant, lively sound with excellent projection and achieves that resonant sound that Epiphone wanted the J-45 to deliver. It additionally works to enhance note definition for a clear and articulate sound, ensuring that live performances and studio sessions reveal all the nuances of the player. And because it's a solid-wood top, the tone matures gracefully over time, enhancing harmonics and improving tone balance as the years go by.

Full-bodied projection and depth

Whether you play bluegrass, country, or rock, you need a guitar with a full voice that can hold its own in an ensemble. Thanks to the generous body size of the J-45 Studio, combined with the choice tonewoods, you'll take advantage of its full-ranging tone and excellent projection. For solo performances and recording, the sound is rich and solid from the lowest bass notes to the highest overtones. And if you play in an acoustic ensemble, the J-45 Studio sets a solid foundation that won't be overshadowed by the rest of the band.

Incredible dynamics meets affordability

The J-45 Studio gives you premium tonewoods and Epiphone's top-notch construction, at a price that's normally reserved for "beginner" guitars. And it's a great guitar to start with, thanks to its easy-playing SlimTaper neck that many players find more comfortable than larger, bulkier necks. But no matter how many years of playing you have under your belt, the full, robust tone and exceptional playability of the J-45 Studio is immediately noticeable. And thanks to its beautiful, dynamic, and responsive tonewoods, the sound will keep getting sweeter for years to come.

Epiphone J-45 Studio Acoustic Guitar Features:

  • Value-packed acoustic guitar with real solid Sitka spruce top
  • Indian laurel fingerboard is responsive and enhances articulation
  • Solid tonewoods mature with age, enhancing tone and balance
  • SlimTaper neck is regarded as one of the most popular and comfortable neck shapes
  • Mahogany neck is glued-in with a dovetail joint, an extremely strong way to connect the neck to the body while enhancing tone and sustain
  • Premium nickel tuners and an Indian laurel bridge support great intonation

Great Guitar

Great Guitar for the Price and a good Guitar for a beginner like I am.
Music background: Starting all over again with this guitar and learning to play.

Another great Epiphone product.

I bought this guitar brand new and have had it for over a year now. It came in well setup. No sharp frets or dead spots. The action was nice and low. The finish is beautiful. Holds tune great. After a year plus of using it,it still is great. I highly recommend it.
Music background: Gigging musician

Beyond Expectations

I just wanted a drag around guitar that could withstand my empty wallet and bumbling friends around the campground.
I also thought why not a J45.?.
Great decision. This thing is absolutely beautiful… no flaws, plays like a dream and sounds pretty Danged good..!!..
I play a Gibson Hummingbird, a Gibson ES335 and a Martin D28…. Of course there's no comparison but the Epi J45 is a solid guitar with a great fast neck.
A great buy..!!..

A good inexpensive guitar for "those" get togethers.

I've always liked the look of the slope shouldered Gibson J45, but TBH, my playing style and my ears have always pulled me toward...well, pretty much any other guitar.
After aquiring a good collection of acoustics of different sizes and styles, I saw this Epiphone J45 Studio at an affordable price and decided to finally add a J45 looking guitar to my collection.
This is a lower level guitar to be sure, but it's not a bad guitar at all.
Compared to the Gibson and the more expensive Epiphone models, the Studio has a 25.5" scale, not the 24.75" scale of the Gibson, so it feels a little different, but probably more like what you're used to.
The shape of the guitar makes for a pretty mellow higher end and overall tone without sounding muted.
IMO it's a nice guitar for strumming chords and accompanying vocals.
For the price, it's a great guitar for outings, you know: those parties where you might not be the only one playing it, picnics, the beach etc.
It looks classy but not extravagant.
It's a nice addition to my collection that provides a different tone and a cool looking, well built instrument that plays beautifully out of the box and won't break the bank.
Music background: Began playing guitar in 1968, no longer play professionally, but build, repair and refurbish guitars since 2006.

Great guitar The J 45 vintage, Sunburst Epiphone

I purchased this guitar several months ago. I wasn't sure what I would get, when it arrived, but it is a fine guitar! It stays in tune, it does what I want it too. The intonation is good, and I like the sound. I'm a lifetime musician, and have a Martin, & Gibson, and I enjoy playing this guitar, right up w/ the others. Thanks Epiphone, and Sweetwater.
