Worthy of a larger price tag

I tested a few thin-line, narrow-necked classicals with pick-ups but nothing I tried did it for me if you know what I mean..

So I decided to order a B-stock c5-cet limited that was not available to test out. I tried it first of all when I got home and was blown away by the quality of the finish. Then after a couple of minutes of playing it, I fell in love. Very loud not only for its size. I changed the strings ( which were not bad tbh) for some harder carbon versions and it is an absolute treat to play. Would be very hard pushed to find a guitar like this under 1000.. Just my opinion..

Cordoba C5-CET Limited exceeds expectations in every respect!

First impressions: Was I ever pleased with the spalted maple! What a looker. Tune up & strum a few chords. Beautiful resonant sound. The cutaway is well executed and the reach is all you could ask for. I occasionally play Gabor Szabo's "Gypsy Queen" and I can run the "D" on the high "E" string 10th fret all the way up to an imaginary 22nd fret above the soundhole ala Carlos Santana.

The action was typical classical guitar, i.e. somewhat higher than I like so out came the saddle and my aluminum sanding block. Several minutes later and the action was a lot more comfortable. Being from the "I love flamenco" end of the galaxy, the action will eventually go a tad lower.

But, oh my goodness, does it ever do surf tunes ala Ben Woods, Jazz, sweet instrumental rock and, yes, bit of classical Bach. I'm working on it. It's the journey that counts am I right?

All in all I could not be more pleased with my choice. Where my past steel string acoustics kept taking me back to familiar electric guitar territory, this Cordoba has encouraged me to take the road less traveled. You can be sure that I'm on that road every day.

Buy one! You won't be sorry.

Wish I'd of acted sooner.

After years of being on the fence about buying an entry level Cordoba, I final decided to act. The spalted back and sides were the tipping point. The guitar is easy to play and has a wonderful tone.

If this is what an entry-level Cordoba is like, how good are the top-of-the line Cordobas?

Overall would recommend

I just set it up, but have not plugged it in yet. Will edit review more later on.

Pros: -Rings nicely with long sustain. Despite the heavy lacquer the spruce top still delivers.

-The heavy tension strings it comes with were a concern at first, but they play nicely, and are not hard to press.

-Very light, due to cutaway and thinline body.

-Bought the Cordoba gig bag...does the job.

Cons: -While not affecting the playability, the headstock is oddly tilted to the left (base sting side) while looking
straight at the guitar. The contours of the headstock look like they were hand-cut, but obviously it was CNC cut.

-Further oddity, the logo is slightly off center. Well...I guess when you buy a guitar from F*******
China....expect stuff like that.

-No strap hooks, if that is important to you.

Overall I would recommend, and glad I bought it. I will post more thoughts after I play for a while. Will try to post pics of the off center headstock. Most would not even notice, probably, but I use to be in the sign-making business, where you measure and cut a lot, and it stood out to me immediately.
