A Mini Monitoring Marvel for Accurate Mixes!

The AVANTONE MixCubes mini reference monitors give you the ability to hear what your mixes will sound like on bass-challenged real-world systems such as computers, televisions, car stereos, and iPod docking stations. These full-range, active MixCubes are 6-1/2" tall, and each contains a 5-1/4" speaker that provides excellent sound reproduction for great reference mixing. The cabinets are shielded, so you can place them next to computer monitors. For making high-quality, accurate mixes that sound great on any system, use the MixCubes to complete your monitor setup!

AVANTONE MixCubes Active Mini Reference Monitors at a Glance:
  • Active design
  • Realistic Sound

Active design
These MixCubes are active, meaning they have their own 60-watt amplifier built in, so they don't draw power from your computer.

Realistic sound
Mini reference monitors, like the MixCubes give you an idea of what your mix will sound like in real-world listening situations - like stock TV and computer speakers, and basic car stereos, and earbuds. If you want to create a professional-sounding mix that will translate everywhere, you've got to give it the real-world test. These MixCubes are an excellent (and stylish!) set of B speakers designed to tell you the truth about where your vocals, and bass truly sit in the mix.

love em

Love em more and more. I'll think I have a mix done and throw it on these and realize there's too much 200hz in the guitars. classic lol.

Essential

These speakers are the best thing that has happened to my production desk since the DAW. I should have had them when I ran tape. You mixes will appreciate you if you have them.

Pretty cool

Yeah they are a good reference monitor. Might flip em on occasionally to see what's going on. Between my mains, these, and my computer output I can pretty much get a read on a mix. Useful for telling you where to look. Would I do any moves on them? No I wouldn't...terrible sounding and fatiguing speakers. Only moves I would consider doing on them would be volume balance and even then I prefer my mini genelec mono speaker. For me they are reference only, but they excel at that.

Crappy Monitors

Takes some getting use to, but you will be glad you did. It help to listen to the way you mix translate on multiple platforms. Decreases mix time. Helps to identify the places that did to be tweaked. For example bass too loud or not loud enough, Muddy instruments, or muddy vocals, If it is on these speakers, you better fix it or you will be going to you car a whole bunch of times,

Great buy, but they do sound pretty crappy when you are used to listening on great monitor speakers. Just do it.

Also, don't crank em'; Listen at a very low volume. If you can hear it in the next room, it is too loud.
Music background: Singer songwriter - Project studio
